IU Northwest's available classroom technology is designed to enhance the learning experience by adding an extra dimension to your course material. Faculty can rely on University Information Technology Services (UITS) to provide quick and responsive classroom technical support to faculty, including network, software, and device troubleshooting and repairs.
Using technology for classrooms
Multimedia classrooms
Most classrooms are equipped with a projector or large-screen monitor, and a lectern outfitted with a PC, document camera, touchscreen controls, and cables for connecting other devices. Detailed instructions on lectern operation are included on the lecterns.

What is lecture capture and recording?
Faculty can use “lecture capture” to record (capture) audio and video that is presented within the classroom during a class session. Instructors can then distribute the captured content to students through Canvas. Lecture capture allows students to review class material at their own pace, revisiting difficult concepts at any time. The addition of transcripts and captions also makes lecture capture a great assistive technology for students with disabilities.
Is lecture capture available in all classrooms?
Yes, lecture capture is available in all General Inventory Classrooms. To request Kaltura Lecture or Personal Capture, please visit the Classroom Technology Services website and fill out the appropriate form.
Contact the IT Support Center for a lecture capture consultation or request.
What can I do with classroom capture?
Once the capture/recording is complete, a digital file will be created. You will have access to this recording by logging into Kaltura.
