On Saturday, February 19, 2022 IU Northwest will host its 21st annual Science Olympiad Regional Tournament. Some events will be run using the Scilympiad online platform. Please make sure your team is familiar with using this system well in advance of the date of our tournament.
Currently, we anticipate running the tournament in-person on our campus in Gary, IN. This is subject to change based on the status of the COVID pandemic as we get closer to the day of the tournament. All competitors, coaches, volunteers, event supervisors and other participants must wear masks at all times when indoors. Masks may be removed for eating and drinking in home rooms only. Masks must remain on, covering nose and mouth, in all indoor competition spaces.
The primary goal of our tournament is for students to experience a fun day while doing science. A secondary goal is to help students prepare for the state tournament at Purdue-West Lafayette on March 12, 2022. Trial events are strictly for fun; medals will be awarded, however they will not count for overall team placement.
The event schedule for the tournament is available now. Please click on Events at the bottom of this page to view the tournament schedule.
Please email any questions you have about our tournament to Dr. Harold Olivey, Tournament Director. His contact information is found on the Committee page.
