Indiana University Northwest’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Multicultural Affairs (ODEMA), is proud to host a series of Black History Month events highlighting multiple facets of African American culture.

The Signal a Doo Wop Rhapsody
Arts & Sciences Building, Theatre

80-minute musical celebration honoring the legacy of Gary’s own Vivian Carter, the first black female owner of a record label. This event is co-hosted with the IU Northwest Department of Minority Studies.

February 9 • 6 p.m.
Shared Legacies Film & Panel Discussion
Bergland Auditorium

Film examining the collaboration of Black and Jewish civil rights advocates, with panel discussion to follow. This event is co-hosted with the Center for Urban and Regional Excellence.
