IU Response
Indiana University is closely monitoring the rapidly changing situation with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and is actively working to plan and prepare for a potential outbreak. For the latest information regarding this situation, please refer to coronavirus.iu.edu.
Extended Spring Break
IU spring break will be extended by one additional week. It will now be from March 14 to 29. Classes will not resume until March 30.
Remote Classroom Instruction
IU is suspending face-to-face classes and transitioning to virtual learning for the remainder of the spring semester. Students should receive a message from their instructors in the coming weeks regarding details on remote classroom instruction. If you have not heard from your instructor by March 28, please contact them. If you have not received a response within 24 hours, please contact acadaffs@iun.edu.
You can find more information on online learning through the Keep Learning class on Expand.
If you need technical assistance with remote classroom instruction, please contact the UITS Help Desk at 219-981-4357, iunhelp@iun.edu, or via the live chat option at ithelplive.iu.edu.
Campus is Open
Campus remains open with limited operations, but every effort is being made to reduce the number of people on the campus, to limit the likelihood of infections. The campus is open, including the John W. Anderson Library, for the necessary use of students and employees with valid Crimson Cards.
However, the Little RedHawk Café in the Anderson Library is closed until further notice. The Savannah Fitness Center, Savannah Gymnasium, and the art galleries in the Savannah Center and Arts & Sciences building are also closed.
Labs and Studios
Students who are assigned to individual Fine Arts studios may continue to have access to their studios for critical, essential work, but are expected to maintain social distancing by working alone in their assigned spaces.
Students may also have access to laboratories for critical, essential work, but only with appropriate supervision by faculty or staff members. Please contact your instructor for more information.
Student Employment
Whether or not student employees are able to accomplish their work remotely depends on the character of their duties, the resources required for their work, the needs of their units and equity among colleagues. Such decisions, once again, are at the discretion of division-level supervisors. Please contact your supervisor for more information.
