IU Northwest announces new scholarship aid benefiting transfer students
Qualified students to receive aid starting with the 2012-13 academic year
Tuesday Apr 03, 2012
Indiana University Northwest announced, today, $96,000 in scholarship aid to benefit transfer students wishing to complete their bachelor degree. The aid will cover the 2012-13 and 2013-14 academic years.
The scholarships, starting in the 2012-13 academic year, are aimed to strengthen the transfer relationship with graduates of Ivy Tech Community College and those who previously attended other regionally accredited institutions. The university plans to continue offering the Transfer Student Scholarships in future years.
A limited number of scholarships are available for the 2012-13 academic year, which will be awarded to students on a first come, first served basis.
Students need not apply for the scholarships. Students who are admitted to IU Northwest will be notified by the Office of Admissions if scholarship funds are available, and if they meet the scholarship requirements. With the student’s acceptance of the aid, the scholarship funds will be automatically applied to their tuition.
“Our students, whatever their ages and past educational backgrounds, are managing their academic careers along with an often complex array of adult responsibilities, commitments, and financial obligations,” said IU Northwest Chancellor William J. Lowe. “It is part of the IU Northwest campus mission to enable students to make higher education work for them. I am confident, through these scholarships, that an IU degree will be even more accessible to transfer students.”
