IU Northwest to host service and resource conference for those with disabilities, their employers Oct. 17

The Indiana University Northwest Office of Diversity Programming and the Office of Student Support Services will host a conference from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17 to raise awareness for Disabilities Employment, recognized during the month of October.
The event, “A Strong Workforce is an Inclusive Workforce: What Can You Do?” takes place in the John W. Anderson Library Conference Center lobby. It will showcase services and resources that can help individuals with disabilities function well in the workplace, as well as guide business owners in accommodating those with disabilities.
The day’s schedule is as follows:
9 a.m. – Exhibitor information tables open.
11 a.m. – Panel discussion and guest speaker from the Council on Accessible Transportation of Northwest Indiana.
12 p.m. – Lunch break
1:30 to 3 p.m. – Breakout session on the topic of employment readiness
A continental breakfast will be served
