IU students, alumni plan to ‘Walk to End Alzheimer’s’
Participants sought to join team for Sept. 23 event

The Indiana University Northwest Student Alumni Association and IU Alumni Association – Northwest are recruiting participants to join their team in the upcoming Walk to End Alzheimer’s, scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 23 at Hidden Lake Park in Merrillville. Registration for the one-mile walk begins at 12:30 p.m.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. All Walk to End Alzheimer's donations benefit the Alzheimer's Association, the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. The mission of the Alzheimer's Association is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
The Student Alumni Association encourages all students, staff, faculty and all IU alumni to join the IU Northwest team. To join, stop in the Alumni Relations Office in Sycamore Hall, room 218 or visit www.alz.org/walk and sign up under, “IUN Student Alumni Association and Friends.”
The Student Alumni Association will be staffing a table in the Moraine Student Center to promote the walk from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12.
