Registration

  • Registration Agreement - review the University Registration Agreement before enrolling in classes.
  • Deadlines - review the academic calendar to see registration deadlines for each semester.
  • Policies - familiarize yourself with important policies such as residency status, academic forgiveness, and more.
  • Advising - your advisor can help with planning your academic journey, including course selection for fulfilling degree requirements. See your advisor for section authorizations, course approvals, and checklist (hold) clearance, if needed.

You must be admitted to the university before you can register for classes. Please contact the Office of Admissions to apply.

When you register, the university reserves specific class spaces for you and commits resources to provide the instruction you have selected. You assume the responsibility for paying those course fees. The availability of courses is subject to change. A section may be canceled due to low enrollment or other factors. The academic department canceling a class will notify registered students and help them make alternative arrangements, as needed. Registered students are notified by the academic department if a class meeting time has changed.

Your registration will not automatically be canceled for nonpayment of tuition and fees. You must either pay your fees or notify us by the first week of classes if you do not intend to return to and/or attend Indiana University Northwest for the term. Canceling your registration by the first week of classes releases your class spaces in time to be available to other students. If you decide to cancel your registration, log on to One.IU. Go to “Student Center” and select the Register & Drop/Add, select the term, and proceed to drop selected classes. Students are encouraged to view their class schedule to verify that all classes were successfully dropped and to verify their Bursar account is properly credited.
