MS Educational Leadership

The Educational Leadership Master Degree Program is for a licensed/certified classroom teacher who wishes to pursue K-12 administration. The program emphasizes the practical application of theory, encourages reflective thinking, and focuses on the knowledge, technical and interpersonal skills of strong leadership.

MS Elementary or Secondary Education

The Elementary /Secondary Master Degree Program is for a licensed/certified teacher. The program is a problem-based learning curriculum that promotes deeper understanding of educational research and how to apply that knowledge towards helping all learners.

This program does not require a Thesis.

Teaching Licenses at the Graduate Level

Graduate Licensure programs are for people with Bachelor’s degrees in any area who want to become K-12 school teachers. Programs are available in (P-12) special education Mild Interventions and in Urban secondary teaching in English, Math, Social Studies, Science and Visual Arts. Candidates who complete Licensure Programs may earn a Master’s degree with the completion of a few more courses.

MLS Master of Liberal Studies

The Master of Liberal Studies (MLS) is an interdisciplinary program that allows students flexibility in fashioning a
course of study that focuses mostly on a single topic or discipline, or that samples a wide range of courses of interest.

MSCC Clinical Counseling

The Master of Science in Clinical Counseling with Specialization in Drug and Alcohol Counseling (MSCC) prepares students for careers in addiction counseling. The program offers courses in assessment, psychopathology, counseling skills, and treatment evaluation. Students will be prepared to pursue Indiana licensure in addiction counseling.

MS Master of Computer Information Systems

The Master of Science in Computer Information Systems program is designed for students who desire to advance their careers in information technology. The Master of Science (MS) in Computer Information Systems (CIS) consists of 30 credit hours. Anyone with a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution in any field, may apply and will be considered for conditional admission. If the major is in a computer related field, the student may be given direct admission.

Employment opportunities for graduates of MS in CIS range from systems administrators, database administrators, systems analysts, network  administrators, data scientists and data mining specialists.

MSW Master of Social Work

The Indiana University School of Social Work at Northwest offers a part-time evening Master of Social Work degree (MSW) with concentrations in mental health and addictions, health, and school social work. The MSW program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

*This program requires an online  application in addition to the Graduate Program application.

MSN Family Nurse Practitioner

The MSN Family Nurse Practitioner specialty track is a 42 credit hour, seven semester curriculum designed to prepare registered nurses with advanced practice nursing knowledge for the role of primary health care provider.

MPA Master of Public Affairs

The Master of Public Affairs degree offers four tracks (Health Services Administration, Criminal Justice, Nonprofit Management and Public Management) for students who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in the area of public administration. The School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) houses faculty who, in addition to offering the requisite classes necessary to allow students to succeed, are leaders in community, national and international organizations and publish in nationally and internationally recognized journals. The MPA program is accredited by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA) through 2020.
