Dr. Rao has extensive knowledge of Indian and the other emerging economies and has been actively engaged in providing awareness of the vast business potential of these economies through several community activities in Northwest Indiana. Dr. Rao has been a spokesperson for promoting Indo- US economic, business and academic relations and collaboration through her teaching and research and community activities.
She is the recipient of the national award for excellence in teaching from the National Society for Leadership and Success and is recipient of numerous awards for Teaching Research and Service.
Undergraduate Students’ Research Papers and Presentations
1. “Do unemployment rates really matter?”. Under my mentorship Prakash Patel prepared and presented this paper at the Missouri Valley Economic Association meeting in Nashville, Tennessee in 2004. This research was funded by the Undergraduate Research Fund, IU Northwest.
2. “Real Estate Economics of Northwest Indiana”. Under my mentorship, Aaron Ingram prepared and presented this paper at the annual meeting of the Indiana Academy of Social Sciences at Westville in 2007. This research was funded by the Undergraduate Research Fund, IU Northwest.
3. “ Obesity and Poverty, a Socioeconomic Analysis, presented by Derek Johnson at the 81st Annual meeting of the Indiana Academy of the Social Sciences
