We, as the faculty's elected First Tier Salary Committee, urge the Chancellor to implement a new policy concerning all new administrative appointments.  Administrators (interim or otherwise) who have tenured faculty rank and who revert to full time faculty status upon completion of their administrative appointment should not retain all of their administrative salaries.  Rather they should return to their established ten (10) month faculty salary plus any additional annual raises and/or equity adjustments, but allowing them to receive a salary commensurate with their rank in their unit/division.  We request that any exceptions to this policy be discussed with the First Tier Salary Committee.
