Indiana Civic Health Index
The Indiana Civic Health Index strengthens civic life in Indiana by elevating the discussion of our state’s civic health. Created in collaboration with state and national organizations, these reports identify patterns related to the civic engagement of Hoosiers and discuss the implications of these trends for building a civically engaged Indiana.
In the most rececent report from 2019, an analysis of civic engagement from 2011 to 2016 revealed that Indiana’s performance, relative to that of other states, has improved in key areas, including measures of working with neighbors and attending public meetings. In the areas of voting and voter registration, challenges remain.
