The story the Class of 2020 will recount about the year they graduated will be printed in history books. It’s a story of pandemic proportions. A story in which a spreading virus forced a reimagining of the way we traditionally celebrate this milestone. Instead of walking across a stage in a packed venue, the grads turned to more personal and creative ways to celebrate. And while the number of celebrants was reduced, the amount of personal triumph is no less momentous.
If you are planning on attending the May 13th, 2021 ceremony and you rented, paid for and returned apparel for the May 2020 ceremony, you will not have to pay for apparel. All 2020 graduates who ordered and paid for the official caps, tassels, gowns, hoods, and stoles will receive the complimentary use of gowns (and hoods if you earned a graduate degree) to wear at Commencement. Bring your cap, tassel (and stole if you earned an undergraduate degree). You will be contacted by Herff Jones before Commencement to arrange the use of complementary apparel.
If you are not contacted by Herff Jones and you rented and paid for your apparel for the 2020 ceremony, you can contact their office pacavazos@herffjones.com with your full name, campus location and daytime number and they will work with you directly.
Congratulations to the Class of 2020, who overcame it all to finish “IUN Strong.”
