The semi-annual Speech Forum invites the campus community and the public to hear and witness a public speaking competition of IU Northwest students selected from their public speaking classes.
The nine student speakers are responsible for selecting their own topic based on personal interests. Speeches must be five to seven minutes in length or risk disqualification. Speech topics include cultural, historical, and political issues.
A panel of judges chosen from the university and the community score the speeches and the top three students receive plaques. A reception with refreshments follows the presentations.
