Karen M. Teeter

The Foundations of Project Management Certification will be taught by Karen M. Teeter.  Karen is able to draw upon her twenty years of Project Management experience to inspire future Project Managers.  Karen has worked in a variety of industries and has managed projects for both Operation and Technology Organizations.   Karen's classroom philosophy is to encourage students through active engagement to think creatively and strategically to become experts within their field.  She believes that it is through the acquisition of knowledge, hands on experience and knowing the appropriate balance of both the Technical and Emotional Intelligence skills that allows Project Managers to be at their very best.  Karen holds a Bachelor’s and Graduate Degree in Business Administration and is an active member of the Project Management Institute. She is also VP of Professional Development for the PMI Calumet Chapter, Volunteers through Lake County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) office and is the mother of two college aged students.

  • Secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree) + 7,500 hours leading and directing projects + 35 hours of project management education; OR
  • Four-year degree + 4,500 hours leading and directing projects + 35 hours of project management education
