FAQ's

I want to return to complete my undergraduate degree. What are my next steps?

  1. Update your student record. Apply for re-admission. No fee is required.
  2. After re-admission, connect with your advisor and schedule an appointment. Find your advisor’s contact information.
  3. Register for classes as a full-time returning student (12 or more credit hours) in an on-campus program.

I'd like to enroll in a Masters Degree Program. How do I get my laptop?

Register for classes totaling at least 3 credit hours as a graduate student in an on-campus program by December 31. Look for an email in late December to complete a brief form and get instructions on how to receive your laptop.

Apply to a Graduate Program

How do I qualify for a laptop?

Returning juniors & seniors (60+ credit hours completed) with a cumulative GPA above 2.0, with no outstanding balance that prohibits re-enrollment should qualify for a laptop. Enroll in an on-campus program.

First time Masters degree students who enroll in an on-campus program for at least 3 credit hours should qualify for a laptop.

Is there a deadline?

We suggest you act fast. Laptops are only available while supplies last, or until December 31, 2022, whichever comes first. Classes begin on January 9, 2023.

When will I find out if I will receive a laptop?

Look for an email in late December to complete a brief form and get instructions on receiving your laptop.

When and how will I receive the laptop?

Details on a pick-up location on campus will be emailed to you at the end of December. Laptops will be distributed January 3-13, 2023.

Who owns the laptop?

As long as you remain enrolled full time and maintain a 2.0 GPA in the Spring 2023 semester, the laptop is yours to keep.

Does the laptop come with software?

Great news! While the laptop comes with basic software, all IU students can download a wide variety of tools free of charge by using the IUware software distribution service. This includes popular tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and more.

Who do I contact if I have any questions about this opportunity?

Please email us at admit@iun.edu. Subject tile your email "Laptop."

I enrolled before December 31, 2022. Am I eligible for the laptop?

Yes, as long as you meet the requirements outlined on this page and are enrolled in an on-campus program. Please watch your email for details on a pick-up location on campus.

What do I do if I need technical assistance with the laptop?

If you need help troubleshooting apps and IU online services, please visit the UITS-NW Support Center in Hawthorn Hall, Room 108. You can also request support at 219-981-4357 (H-E-L-P) or iunhelp@iun.edu.

I know someone else who is planning to attend IU Northwest this fall. Can they receive a laptop, too?

This opportunity is being offered to undergraduate junior and senior students in good financial and academic standing who are returning after taking time away from college. It is also being offered to new graduate degree seeking students enrolling in an on-campus program.
