School of the Arts Launches New Educator In-Studio Residency Summer Program
The School of the Arts at Indiana University Northwest seeks up to ten applicants to participate in a new on-campus summer professional learning initiative.
The Educator In-Studio Residency Summer Program is open to Northwest Indiana and Chicago area high school educators with a range of experience working in performing arts, fine arts, communication studies, and community arts.
Our two-week flexible on-campus residences are for school-based practitioners interested in gaining new skills and knowledge in a supportive and immersive environment. During this time, each resident will concentrate on their own artistic or research practice and focus their time on thinking and creating independently. In some cases, residents may find shared interests with others in their residency cohort and decide to work in a cross-disciplinary way in developing ideas or practice exploration.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the School of the Arts' state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities and accomplished faculty. Residents may earn Professional Growth Points through a curated series of professional development seminars ranging from technical skill training, mentorship, and group critiques by the School of the Arts faculty and opportunities to engage in university community-based summer programming.
