Indiana College Core Certificate

What is the Indiana College Core (ICC)?

The ICC is an approved block of 30 credit hours of general education college-level coursework. It is transferrable toward general education core requirements and transferrable between Indiana public colleges and universities and some private institutions.

Based on competencies and learning outcomes in six areas:

Foundational Intellectual Skills

  • Humanistic and Artistic
  • Speaking and Listening
  • Written Communication

Ways of Knowing

  • Quantitative Reasoning
  • Scientific
  • Social and Behavioral

IU Indiana College Core Certificate

IU Northwest has been approved to offer a certificate credential for high school students who pursue and complete the IU Northwest ICC program requirements.

For Students

  • The ICC provides ease of transferability in core credits between institutions.
  • Earn college credit while still in high school, kickstarting your college career.
  • Receive a post-secondary credential upon completion of the ICC.

For Partner Schools

  • Offering ICC can positively affect state standing.
  • ICC is required for Early College models in Indiana.
