Be sure on Network (Note what was set and return network to that)
- Go To Apple
- System Preferences (under Apple, System Preferences)
- Network under Internet and Network
- Several options. Click on Ethernet
- Advanced
- Renew DHCP Lease
- OK
- Return network to original
Connecting Contribute to WebServe
- Turn on MAC
- Point mouse to bottom of window and see list of programs
- Click on Applications
- Find Contribute and open
- On the open window, Create New Website Connection
- Choosing a Connection – paste in URL
- Website Connection Info:
- Secured SFTP
- //webserve.iu.edu/uteprb into name of SFTP server
- uteprb
- password
- User Info
- Full name of user
- E-mail of user
Creating VPN on Mac -- VPN MUST be disconnected to use Contribute
- Go To Apple
- System Preferences (under Apple, System Preferences)
- Network under Internet and Network
- Press + sign on bottom left
- Interface = vpn
- Vpn Type = pptp
- Server Name = IUN VPN
- Create
- Configuration = default
- Server address: 149.162.8.2
- Network-ID of person
- Click authentication settings and make sure password is checked and put in passphrase
- OK
- Encryption stays the default = 128 bit or 40 bit
- Go to Advanced
- Send all traffic over vpn connection is checked
- OK
- Apply
- Connect
