IU Affiliate Account IU Affiliate Account - may be needed for IPFW students taking course(s) at IU Northwest. If a person does not have an IU Network-ID (all paid employees should have one so this is for people like IPFW people an IU Affiliate account can be created. This should be done by the professor. An Affiliate account is ONLY to give someone an active STATUS. Status is not an account. But, once a person is given an active status of IU Affiliate, the person will be able to create a network id, ADS and email(if they need that). The IU Afffiliate status DOES NOT give them the same privledges as a student or employee would have. To request an IU Affiliate status,
The professor should give the person active status. An affiliate account can have an end date (end of that semester) so after the semester, the account will not be able to be used. After the request has been processed the affiliate will be eligible to go to http://itaccounts.iu.edu and create IU computing accounts; Network-Id for access to ERIS and Oncourse, ADS account, and email if they like. They will then be able to access ERIS — Electronic Reserves Information System. To give someone an IU Affiliate status, needs to do the following:
Once the form is submitted, Valid will either approve or deny the request. The person submitting the request will be the only person who is notified of the approval or denial via e-mail. If it is approved, further instructions will be given to the requestor and that person need to communicate that with the Affiliate so they can create their accounts. If the request is denied, the requestor will get a message with the reason why it was denied. The Affiliate must log in with the IU Affiliate account so they can create their accounts.
