Accessibility
All IU Northwest pages must be accessible to people with disabilities following the Section 508 Guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Below are resources to help be sure your pages are in compliance:
- Semantic Extractor - Sees a Web page from a semantic point of view. Extracts such information as outline, description, languages used, etc.
- RDF Validator - Checks and Visualize RDF documents
- Feed Validator. - Checks newsfeeds in formats like ATOM and RSS.
- P3P Validator - Checks whether a site is P3P enabled and controls protocol and syntax of Policy-Reference-File and Policy
- XML Schema Validator
- MUTAT - a human-centered testing tool (framework)
- Contrast Ratio Calculator - The W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 recommend that web pages provide a minimum luminosity contrast ratio of 5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text (14pt bold or 18pt normal, or larger).
Indiana University's Visual Identity's Web Standards and accessibility guidelines are for teaching, research, outreach, and service using IU web pages.
