The Great Gary Clean Up Serve-a-Thon

The May 9th event will bring together hundreds of youth and adults from all over Northwest Indiana to paint a brighter future for the children of Gary. Volunteers will organize libraries to provide environments conducive to learning; transform indoor and outdoor spaces with bright, colorful murals; paint colorfull line games on playgrounds to encourage children to be active; plant flowers and create landscapes to beautify Gary schools, parks, libraries, and community gardens!

The Serve-a-Thon will open with a morning rally before volunteers depart to their project sites. Transportation to and from project sites will be provide. Volunteers can register individually or form a team of up to 50 people. Volunteers who are not affiliated with IU Northwest please register at www.unitedwaypc.org. A $25 registration donation is requested for the event, which supports Hoosier Volunteers' continued mission to provide opportunities for individuals to improve the Gary community through inspired volunteerism. Prizes are awarded for teams and individuals that raise money through event pledges and team recruitment.
