Introduction
This manual is issued to explain University personnel policies that apply to Service Maintenance Staff Employees on the South Bend campus. As such it represents only a portion of the University’s personnel policies and procedures. A complete set of Trustee-approved policies is available for review at University Human Resource Services or the Office of the Board of Trustees.
This manual is issued at the request of, and for the convenience of, AFSCME, Local 1477-01. It has not been submitted to, nor approved by, the Board of Trustees in its present form. It does not change the authority or intent of policies that the Board of Trustees has approved. Instead, it is an attempt to collect in one document the policies applicable to Service Maintenance Staff Employees represented by AFSCME, Local 1477-01, pursuant to their exclusive representation rights under the Conditions for Cooperation.
