Math Placement

• Students may select which math test they wish to take, basing their choice on their previous grades in mathematics courses and the length of time since taking a math course. It is a pencil and paper test.  Follow the link to the appropriate practice test.  Students may chose:

  Test A   Arithmetic and Elementary Algebra
  Test B   Intermediate Algebra
  Test C   College Algebra/Pre-calculus and Trigonometry

• Students MAY NOT use calculators.
• Students have 50 minutes to complete the test.
• Students exempt from the test:

  Transferred in an elementary algebra class or higher

• Students receive their test results immediately
• Students MUST register for the course in which they have placed. Students will be unable to register for a math course higher than the one in which they placed.
•  If a student feels the placement is incorrect he/she may contact the Department of Mathematics for further evaluation.
