Call to order: Paulette called the meetings to order at 11:46 AM on Wed. and 12:05 PM on Thurs.

I. Old Business

  • A. Executive Council
    • 1. Sydney Barrows was the student representative from IU Northwest and attended the Executive Council with Paulette in Indianapolis
  • B. Grad Fest
    • 1. Thursday, Feb. 7
    • 2. helped promote ring sales
  • C. 2008 Youth Summit
    • 1. Friday, Feb. 8 in Savanah Center
  • D. Valentine’s Decorating
    • 1. Thursday, Feb. 14
    • 2. decorated cafeteria w/tablecloths, balloons, cards—great job!
  • E. AAA Winter Safety
    • 1. Thursday, Feb. 2
    • 2. Rebecca Turpin helped—thank you!

II. New Business

  • A. Academic College Experience (ACE)
    • 1. Friday, Feb. 29
    • 2. service to students & community
    • 3. need volunteers to direct & check people in from 8-9 AM
  • B. Etiquette Dinner
    • 1. Wednesday, Feb. 27
    • 2. 6-8 P.M. in Library Conference Center
    • 3. limited spots available, if interested contact Paulette ASAP
    • 4. only $5 -great opportunity for really cheap
  • C. Nursing Alumni Reunion / Openhouse
    • 1. Monday, March 3 from 4-7 P.M.
    • 2. need volunteers to help welcome & direct people
  • D. Daffodil Sales
    • 1. fundraiser for American Cancer Society
    • 2. bundle of daffodils $10; bud vase $5
    • 3. need volunteers to sit at table to sell
    • 4. need volunteers to help as people come to pick up their daffodils on March 19 & 20th morning
  • E. IU Northwest Openhouse
    • 1. Wed. April 2, 4:30-6:30
    • 2. need volunteers to help greet/direct people and give tours
  • F. IU Cares
    • 1. Saturday, April 19
    • 2. statewide volunteer project focusing on literacy
    • 3. will be collecting books at various locations, which are TBA
    • 4. need volunteers to help collect books from book drop off locations
  • G. LeaderShape
    • 1. leadership conference- great opportunity & great on resumes
    • 2. paid for by SAA
    • 3. new dates TBA—sometime in May or possibly August
    • 4. contact Paulette if interested in attending
  • H. Commencement
    • 1. Thursday, May 8 @ Genesis Center
    • 2. program begins at 4PM; volunteers arrive at 2:30PM
    • 3. need as many volunteers as possible…SAA plays a significant role in commencement

III. Fundraising

  • A. Please turn in money from candy bar sales to Paulette

IV. Fun

  • A. SAA Banquet
    • 1. dinner for SAA members (& guest)
    • 2. previously at Strongbow’s, Avalon Manor
    • 3. any new ideas?
  • B. Fun activity
    • 1. possibly bowling or another activity just for fun, if you have any ideas feel free to let an officer or Paulette know
