| Gary's Journal - Day
13
Greetings Everyone,
We are in El Reno,OK. Getting out of Texas was great. It has become
an obsession to get to a particular state and then get out as fast as possible.
We are actually looking for Arkansas more than anywhere so we can cross
the big Mississippi. The weather was perfect when we left this morning,
around 60 degrees. It was very overcast, like it was going to rain
but it didn't. In twelve days, we
have had ten seconds of rain to ride in. It has rained, but at
night. The perfect day didn't last too long before we hit the wind.
It lasted all day. I will not complain because we made it.
The scenery is starting to look like anywhere usa. It is very green.
The panhandle of Texas and OK don't look like we expected it to look.
We thought it would be barren. We saw our first oilwell and dozens
of roadkill. We were told the roadkill would be in Texas but it was
in OK.
We arrived in El Reno, OK and after setting up, joe
and I went and had chinese food (see attached). Dion has to eat
early so he didn't go. We are about to catch up on the emails. Joe
was up until 1:30 am getting out the mail. He paid for it today.
He was tired. He also has bad luck. He had another flat today.
We stopped counting. Better him than me!! Not really. My time
is coming. Tomorrow will probably be the highlight of the trip so
far. We go to Ok City. We are looking forward to visiting the
site of the bombing. It is getting late so I will close for now.
We have
not been able to receive any emails, so if we can get this out tonight,
we will be able to receive some. We miss everyone but the show must
go on. The old body parts are holding up better than expected.
Wish us luck. gary, joe, and dion |
