Register for Classes

The New Registration Experience (a PowerPoint presentation)

Before You Register

  1. Contact your academic department to obtain any required section authorizations or course approvals.
  2. Follow your program's academic advising procedure.
  3. Review course materials for preferred and alternate course selections.

Online Registration

You can register for classes online, from any location, using OneStart.

The service is available at all times except:

* Monday through Saturday 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Eastern Time
* Sunday midnight to 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time

Walk-In Registration

You can register in person at Hawthorn Hall 109.

Late Registration

Late registration can be completed during the first week of classes using OneStart. A late registration fee will be charged.

Drop and Add

If you have already registered, you may drop, add, or change the section of a course during the first week of classes using OneStart. Beginning with the second week of classes, a non refundable late program change fee is charged for each added course, regardless of any drops processed at the same time. To get credit for a dropped course, a Schedule Adjustment Form must be received in the Office of the Registrar.

Past Due Financial Accounts

A hold on your account can result from unpaid fees, library fines, parking tickets, and other causes that can prevent you from registering for classes.

Full-Time and Part-Time Status

Full- and part-time students are classified as follows:

Undergraduate

  • Full-time Status - 12 credit hours for the fall, spring & summer terms
  • Part-time Status - less than 12 credit hours for the fall, spring & summer terms

Graduate

  • Full-time Status - 8 credit hours for the fall, spring & summer terms
  • Part-time Status - less than 8 credit hours for the fall, spring & summer terms

Withdrawal

You must contact the Office of the Registrar to withdraw from your semester classes. Failure to pay your fees or issuing a stop payment through your bank does not constitute an official withdrawal. To receive a full refund, you must officially withdraw by the withdrawal deadline. If you do not officially withdraw, you will be responsible for all fees and will receive failing grades in all registered classes.

If you are eligible for financial aid but do not plan to complete the semester, you must withdraw from your semester classes by the withdrawal deadline. Otherwise your fees will be paid by your financial aid, your enrollment will be validated, and you will receive failing grades in all registered classes.
