Professional Activities:
Dr. Hoyert joined the faculty at IU Northwest in 1988 after graduating from Emory University. He is an experimental psychologist and teaches a variety of courses in general and experimental psychology. Many psychology majors take a course or two from Dr. Hoyert and some students take as many as five or six classes from him.

Dr. Hoyert also maintains an active research program that examines a variety of questions in the general areas in learning, memory, motivation, the sense of time, and behavioral chaos. He has published 40 journal articles and conference presentations while at IU Northwest. He actively encourages student participation in his experiments. Three or four students are always working on various projects in his lab. Twelve students have earned co-authorship on his projects
