Indiana University Northwest invites 8th grade students from across Northwest Indiana to participate in career explorations through various activities such as round table discussions about picking your career while in high school and what it will take to graduate.

We are privileged to present “Making High School Count” sponsored by MONSTER.com. The program is a fast-paced, interactive presentation that helps future freshmen understand that choices made early impact the number of opportunities available to them upon graduation and to realize the importance of grades in achieving their future goals. The program was designed in consultation with guidance counselors and administrators across the country.

Lunch will be provided for all in attendance as well as an opportunity to visit with 20+ businesses in the Savannah Exhibit Hall where students can ask questions about future employment opportunities and skills needed for those positions. There will be workshops for the counselors to discuss career topics with WorkOne staff members and other area businesses. This will be a very full and beneficial day for both students and counselors.

Please complete the registration form at the website for the 2010 Youth Summit before October 31, 2009.

Registration is on a first come basis and will automatically close at 500 students. If you have any questions, please contact me at: or (219) 980-6832. Thank you for your support of this very important event.
