Youth Summit Policies
- Backpacks -- Students are not allowed to bring any backpacks or bags of any type with them. Female students may carry a small purse. Please check to make sure that your students comply with this request.
- Shoes – All visitors to the Savannah Gym are requested to wear gym shoes or shoes with a soft sole while attending the Youth Summit.
- Food -- Students may not purchase food in the Redhawk Cafeteria, the Savannah Ticket office or the IU Northwest Bookstore during the summit. No food, outside of the lunch meal, may be brought into the summit area. Students will be asked to dispose of any food brought into the summit area.
- Disruptive Students -- Counselors will be asked to remove any students from the Youth Summit that are disrespectful or disruptive during any event. Students should remember that they are guests at this event.
- No-Smoking Policy -- Effective August 20, 2007, the use or sale of any tobacco product – will be prohibited on IU Northwest-owned, -operated or -leased property.
Time Schedule of Events
This is the time schedule for all of the events for Students, Counselors, Exhibitors, Facilitators, Guest speakers, and Volunteers. Please check for your specific times and locations.
Bus Driver Information
Buses must drop off / pick up students on the North side of Savannah Center and then park in the North parking lot across the 33th Avenue. Students should then proceed into the Savannah Center gym.
Campus Directions
The campus is located south of Interstate 80 / 94 at the Broadway Exit in Gary, Indiana. You will turn right at the Indiana University Northwest campus entrance and enter the parking lot on the left side of 33rd Avenue.
Visitor Parking
The need for a Parking Pass has been waived for the day for anyone parking in the areas marked “Student Parking”. Parking in the metered, handicapped or reserved areas will result in a parking ticket. |
