In accepting employment as a tutor for the Occupational Development Program, I understand and agree to the following conditions:
- I feel competent to tutor the subjects listed on my tutor application. I am familiar, or will become familiar, with the materials currently being used in the course.
- I will talk with the course instructor at the beginning and throughout the semester and as is beneficial to the tutoring process.
- I understand it is ultimately my responsibility to make all reasonable effort to make initial contact with the students I am assigned. If contact cannot be made, I will report this to the ODP office immediately.
- I will notify my students at least 24 hours in advance of our meeting if I am not able to attend a session or need to reschedule.
- I will notify the ODP office if there is a change in my tutoring load or schedule. This includes students who no longer need my services, and those who just stop attending, drop the course, or who withdraw from school.
- I will maintain a working relationship with my students at all times. Intimate and social contacts are understood to be outside a “working” relationship. I will maintain the confidentiality of my students at all times.
- I will submit payroll forms and a time sheet for EACH pay period as required.
- I will provide feedback regarding my students’ progress via the group narrative form and present these EACH pay period.
- I will plan my tutoring session in advance.
- I will make the best use of my time and student’s time during the period allotted for a tutoring session.
- I will make every effort to attend meetings called by the tutorial staff.
- I will refer any student I believe has a problem (other than course related matters) to the ODP program director.
