2008 Strategic Planning
Outcome #1 A structure for rewarding academic excellence is created. Documentation should include how excellence contributes to the (faculty / staff’s) unit’s portfolio and development of students.
2007 Outcome 1 & Status Report
Administrators have documented that their recognition/reward and tenure practices are in alignment with academic excellence.
Status Report: Cabinet members have gathered information regarding the processes used within each unit. The information documents that faculty committees and Deans are employing the Academic Excellence standards in their reward/recognition and tenure practices. With regard to staff performance evaluation, administrators, if using the performance management document rigorously, are also employing the Academic Excellence standards.

2006 Strategic Planning Outcome 1 Highlight
Outcome #1 (Chancellor Bruce Bergland, Chair): Relevant staff, faculty and administrators have aligned current standards for individual recognition, reward and evaluation with the Academic Excellence Standards adopted by the campus in 2005 and have revised recognition, reward and evaluation documents to reflect that alignment.

2005 Strategic Planning Outcome 1 Highlight
Outcome #1 (David Klamen, Chair): IU Northwest faculty, staff, and administration agree on the student profile of academic excellence through achievement and engagement in learning and each constituency knows its role in producing that profile in all IU Northwest graduates.
- The campus community will be invited to share their input related to the definitions on the characteristics of academic excellence from May 2005 through July 2005 through various communication vehicles.
2004 Strategic Planning Outcome 1 Highlight
Outcome #1 (Dr. Linda Delunas, Sponsor): 2004/2005, IU Northwest faculty, staff, and administration agree on the student profile of academic excellence through achievement and engagement in learning and each constituency knows its role in producing that profile in all IU Northwest graduates.
- A significant amount of feedback received on this topic was received from faculty.
- Each vice chancellor documented how respective areas support academic excellence.
- Through several discussions with campus groups and the Faculty Organization, a formal student profile was approved January 2005.
2004 - 2007 Outcomes
By 2004, IU Northwest faculty, staff, and administration agree on the student profile of academic excellence through achievement and engagement in learning and each constituency knows its role in producing that profile in all IU Northwest graduates.
By 2005, IU Northwest has a shared definition of a love of ideas, and achievement, and engagement in learning, scholarship, discovery, creativity, and service for students, faculty, and staff/administration.
By 2007, Recognition, reward, and tenure processes have been reviewed and aligned with academic excellence as defined by a love of ideas, and achievement, and engagement in learning, scholarship, discovery, creativity, and service.
