An array of performances, speeches, exhibits and forums make up the unique slate of diversity programs that integrate education, music, culture, heritage, religion and history at IU Northwest. The collaborative effort of various departments and individuals enriches the educational experience for students and community members alike.   

  All events are FREE and open to the public.  Events are subject to change.

1/17/13                Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration
                             Stage production of "The Meeting", a moving and thought-provoking
                             play imagines what a clandestine meeting might have
                             been like between Dr. King and Malcolm X.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH
TBD                       “A Diversity Symposium: Exploring the Unconscious Bias”
                      Throughout the month of February (various days, times and locations)
                      ODP will host a series of presentations and discussions that
                      include workshops, keynote speakers, and panel discussions
                      addressing issues of unconscious racism and entitlement.

2/8/13 - 2/9/13      ONE BOOK - ONE CAMPUS - ONE COMMUNITY
                             "No Child"
                              This one woman show is a tour-de-force exploration of one
                              teaching artist's attempt to engage a class of
                              underachieving students in a tough Bronx high school.

                             Author Presentation and Book Signing
                             This Mexican-American Chicana writer who has published works
                             of poetry and fiction has always seen art as a means
                             of activism. She will present a writer's workshop for aspiring
                             authors as well as mystery a ficionados that will
                             be both inspiring and practical.
