2008/2009 Award stipends for faculty involvement in assessment of courses that satisfy student learning outcomes in all domains of Principle 2 (Breadth of Learning) and advanced /intensive student learning outcomes in Principle 1
Plan IW year activities
Finalizing the student learning outcomes in Principle 1 (Foundations for Effective Learning and Communication)
Create a matrix (the first draft) of courses that satisfy and include assessment plans of the four domains of Principle 2 (Breadth of Learning) by December 15, 2008 Designate courses (with assessment plans) as advanced /intensive in Principle 1 and process them through appropriate curriculum committees by May 2009
Review and update (with new courses, if necessary) the matrix of courses that satisfy and include assessment of the four domains of Principle 2 (Breadth of Learning) by March 31, 2009
Adopts outcomes for Principles 1, 4 and 5
2009/2010 Help schools / colleges assess writing / intensive writing with stipends for participation
Designate (with assessment plans) courses / experiences in Principles 3, 4, and 5 and process them through appropriate curriculum committees
Review of possible new positions in all schools/colleges to offer courses / experiences in all principles of general education
Revise general education requirements based on new general education principles and student learning outcomes by November 2009
 
2010/2011

Publish in the
2010-12 bulletin the five principles of general education, the requirements and outcomes for all principles.

Provide support and help with assessment (from Gen Ed / Assessment Excellence Fund)

Assess all Principle 1 Foundation student learning outcomes with stipends (from Gen Ed/Assessment Excellence Fund) for participation.

Review and make changes in courses/programs based on already assessed outcomes.
