CURE Mission

The Indiana University Northwest Center for Urban and Regional Excellence (CURE) facilitates authentic university and community engagement by advancing research, teaching, and service through collaborative, reciprocal, and mutually-beneficial partnerships which foster learning, scholarship, discovery, and creativity in the six-pronged foci of:  Education, Economic Development, Environmental Sustainability, Health Disparities, Arts, and Culture

About CURE

The Indiana University Northwest Center for Urban and Regional Excellence has the distinct honor and privilege of being the primary engagement office of a university that is included in a select cadre of higher education institutions designated as the nationally recognized Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities.  With this identity comes the responsibility and opportunity to not merely exist as a physical entity but rather, as an actively engaged partner and regional steward committed to enhancing the quality of life for the citizens within our seven county northwest Indiana purview.
