Scholarships & Awards

Keith Lorentzen Chemistry Scholarship:
To support scholarship to outstanding seniors or juniors in the Department of Chemistry at IU Northwest as judged by the faculty. the main criterions is a minimum GPA of 3.25.  the number, amount and recipient(s) will be determined by the scholarship committee.

BP Amoco Scholarship:
It is the intent of the Donor that scholarship(s) up to $3,000 per student enrolled at IU Northwest majoring in the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. the recipient() will have a record of academic excellence as demonstrated by a 3.0 GPA and have attained a junior or senior status.  The number, amount and recipient(s) will be determined by the scholarship committee.

Romy S. Chirila Memorial Scholarship:
It is the intent of the Donor that the recipient be a student enrolled in IU Northwest who has an interest in the study of Dentistry, and who has a record of academic excellence as demonstrated by a GPA of 3.3. The amount and recipient of the scholarship will be determined by the scholarship committee.

The IU Northwest Chemistry/Physics/Astronomy Development Fund: 

  •  
    • Outstanding Senior Award (ACS);
      Awarded in Spring to the senior who, in the opinion of the faculty in the department of chemistry/physic/astronomy, is the most outstanding senior.
    • Outstanding Student in Analytical Chemistry (ACS);
      Awarded in Spring to the student who, in the opinion of the faculty in the department of chemistry/physic/astronomy, is the most outstanding student in Analytical Chemistry.
    • Outstanding Student in Organic Chemistry (ACS);
      Awarded in Spring to the student who, in the opinion of the faculty in the department of chemistry/physic/astronomy, is the most outstanding student in Organic Chemistry.
    • Outstanding Student in Physical Chemistry;
      Awarded in Spring to the student who, in the opinion of the faculty in the department of chemistry/physic/astronomy, is the most outstanding student in Physical Chemistry.
    • Outstanding Freshman (CRC)
      Awarded in Spring to the student who, in the opinion of the faculty in the department of chemistry/physic/astronomy, is the most outstanding chemistry freshman.
