Department of Chemistry/Physics/Astronomy

The department has state-of-the-art laboratories with sophisticated analytical instrumentation, which is completely accessible to all department majors. These instruments are used in the upper level teaching labs and students are provided appropriate training on them. Our instrumentation collection includes:

JASCO Ventuna Raman spectrometer with a dual laser system	Varian Saturn GC-MS	270 MHz JEOL NMR with a Silicon Graphics workstation
Waters HPLC with an autosampler, diode array and gradient pump	BAS electrochemical analyzer	Hewlett–Packard GC with an FID detector

The department anticipates the purchase of a high resolution fluorimeter in the coming year.
