IU students will be living in a Spanish household. Students who live in a homestay enjoy additional exposure to cultural values and activities, reinforce Spanish language acquisition, and in general secure a deeper understanding of the culture and a more rounded study abroad experience. All meals are provided by the host family and are included in the program price. Housing is within commuting distance of classes and is always prearranged ahead of time. When students come they will always be assured that they have a place to stay. |

Bilbao has an excellent public transportation system and, in fact, won first prize for Public Transportation in Europe for the year 2001.
