Open public auditions for Theatre Northwest’s spring production of ‘Baby with the Bathwater’ on April 23, 24

Theatre Northwest, the performance company of the Indiana University Northwest Department of Performing Arts, has announced open auditions for the spring production “Baby with the Bathwater” by Christopher Durang.

Aspiring actors of Northwest Indiana are encouraged to audition beginning at 7 p.m., Monday, April 23 and Tuesday, April 24. Those auditioning are invited to come for one or both nights and are advised to dress professionally and prepare a contemporary comedic monologue, 90 seconds in length. Actors may be asked to read from the text of the play.

The auditions will take place at Theatre Northwest at Arts on Grant, located at 3660 Grant St. in Gary, just west of the IU Northwest campus in the Village Shopping Center.

The casting call is open to actors and actresses of all levels, including those with no experience. The cast will consist of two men and three to eight women. All ages and ethnicities are encouraged to audition.

Theatre Northwest welcomes guest artist Genevieve Thompson, a Chicago-based award-winning director to lead this production.

Rehearsals are scheduled for May 16 through June 20. Rehearsal times may be flexible depending on your casting.

Watch for details about the performances, which will take place at 7:30 p.m., June 21, 22 and 23 and at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, June 24.
