Heading out into the “real world” as graduation draws near can be a daunting experience. Networking with potential employers, making a good impression, marketing your skills and learning social graces are essentials that don’t always come easy.

The IU Northwest Offices of Alumni Relations, Career Services, and Student Life and Athletics are teaming up to help the workforce of tomorrow handle these situations with finesse with an etiquette dinner Wednesday, April 11, followed by Career Week April 16 – 20.

Etiquette Dinner

6 p.m., Wednesday, April 11

Gallery for Contemporary Art, Savannah Center

Attendees will get practical tips about etiquette and manners, as well as handling introductions, the handshake, small talk, dressing for success, and tipping. Social gatherings and dinner interviews will also be addressed.

Michelle Wittig, general manager of Juday Creek Golf course near South Bend, Ind., will lead the dinner. She is an adjunct faculty member at Saint Mary’s College, where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Business with a concentration in International Marketing. She also earned her master’s in business administration from Loyola University in Chicago.

Costs for event: $10 for students; $20 for IU Alumni Association members; and $30 for all other interested individuals. Seating is limited and registration is due Thursday, April 5.

For more information, or to reserve your seat, contact the Office of Alumni Relations at (219) 980-6769 or alumninw@iun.edu.
