The Office of Student Life at Indiana University Northwest invites all area college and university students to participate in its Inaugural Collegiate Dance Marathon. The event begins at 6 p.m., Friday, March 23 and continues until 12 p.m., Saturday, March 24 in the Savannah Center Gymnasium.

To participate, a $20 nonrefundable registration fee is required along with a minimum donation of $100 before Monday, March 12. Checks or money orders are payable to BRIDGES Development Foundation.

Food and performances will be plentiful throughout the fun-filled 18-hour night. Entertainment will be provided by Tom Lounges of Radio One; Premier Studios of Merrillville; United Dance Arts of Valparaiso; The Dance Connection of Hammond; and the Indiana Ballet Theatre of Crown Point and DeMotte. The IU Northwest RedHawk cheerleaders will perform as well, engaging the participants in interactive routines culminating in a group number on Saturday morning.

Participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt.  A student ID will be required for entry to the dance marathon. College students from all campuses in Northwest Indiana are invited to participate, including IU Northwest, Purdue University Calumet, Purdue North Central, Valparaiso, and Ivy Tech.

Proceeds from the event will benefit The ARC of Northwest Indiana (formerly ARC Bridges), an agency that assists individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
