Career-development courses are among the many non-credit classes being offered at Indiana University Northwest this spring. Considering a career change? Perhaps becoming a pharmacy technician is right for you. Becoming a certified fitness instructor is another popular option.

Or, perhaps you crave a new hobby or talent, or need some direction in reinventing yourself. IU Northwest offers opportunities for lifestyle enrichment, as well. From interior design to line dancing and stand-up comedy, opportunities abound. Register now for instruction in a variety of important topics and disciplines.

Career Development

  • Fitness Instructor Training: Wednesdays, March 21 - May 30, 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., $455 (does not include books, ACE test, or CPR training)
  • Pharmacy Technician Training: Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 20 - May 24, 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., $910 (includes book)
  • Certified Nursing Assistant: Three-week courses offered on a rolling schedule in 2012. For dates, visit http://www.iun.edu/adultedu/.
  • Optician Exam Prep: Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 17 – May 24, 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., $450 (includes book)
  • Health Insurance Billing: Mondays and Wednesdays, April 2 – May 23, 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., $385.

  • Event Planning: Mondays, March 19 - April 16 (no class April 2), 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., $125
  • Grant Proposal Overview: Mondays and Wednesdays, March 19, 21, 26 and 28, 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., $135

Personal Development

  • Change Your Life: Thursdays, March 22 until April 19, 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., $99
  • The Art of Stand-Up Comedy: Tuesdays, March 20 – April 24, 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., $125.
  • Line Dancing II: Saturdays, April 14 – May 12, 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., $70.

Interior Design

  • Interior Design – Basic: Tuesdays, March 13 until April 17, 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m., $169
  • Interior Design – Intermediate (takes place off campus): Saturdays, April 14, 21 and 28, 9 a.m. until late afternoon depending on the adventure, $159.
  • Interior Design – Advanced (takes place off campus): Saturdays, May 5, 12 and 19, 9 a.m. until late afternoon depending on the adventure, $159.

Online Instruction

A variety of courses are now available online, primarily in the areas of computers and professional development. Courses run for six weeks (with a two-week grace period at the end).
