Indiana University Northwest invites the campus community and general public to “Voices of Latin America,” at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 17 in the Gallery for Contemporary Art, located in the Savannah Center. Light refreshments will be served.

At the discussion, students who are natives of Latin American countries will share their experiences with their peers in hopes of encouraging understanding across cultures.

The IU Northwest student organization Hermanos Unidos (Brothers United) is a Hispanic fraternity that promotes brotherhood, academic excellence and unity among those of Latino descent and all ethnicities.

“We’re not as different as the media often portray us,” said Gilberto Ruiz, secretary of Hermanos Unidos. “We’re here to be productive citizens and become productive members of society.”

Are you a student who is a native of Mexico or a Central or South American country? Hermanos Unidos would like you to contribute to the conversation. Contact Ruiz at (219) 256-3165 or hermuni@iun.edu.
