Indiana University Northwest’s School of Business and Economics invites the campus community and general public to learn more about smart money strategies at a Financial Literacy Fair, scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 12 in the John W. Anderson Library Conference Center, room 105.

The free event will consist of educational seminars on general banking, budgeting, identity theft and credit cards.

The event is part of an initiative known as Bank On Northwest Indiana, a program that works to connect Northwest Indiana families with local financial institutions to help citizens reduce monthly checking expenses and save for the future. The event is sponsored by Centier, Citizens Financial, First Midwest and Peoples banks; as well as Greater Hammond Community Services, Lake Area United Way, Northwest Indiana Community Action Corporation and United Neighborhood Organizations, Inc.

The IU Northwest School of Business and Economics is collaborating with the Accounting Business Student Organization (ABSO), the Student Government Association and the National Society for Leadership and Success to bring this educational event to the community.
