Theatre Northwest, the performance company of the Indiana University Northwest Department of Performing Arts, invites the community to its upcoming production, “All in the Timing,” a series of one-act plays by American playwright David Ives.

Known for their comedic wordplay, the short plays take center stage at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, June 24 and 25 and 2:30 p.m., Sunday, June 26 in the Bergland Auditorium in the Savannah Center.

A winner of the John Gassner Playwriting Award, this critically acclaimed evening of comedies serves up a hilarious combination of wit, intellect and satire. Praising the comedies’ “density of thought,” and “precision of poetry,” the New York Times calls Ives a “master of fun” who “spins hilarity out of words.” Time Magazine calls the plays "Theatre that aerobicizes the brain and tickles the heart. Ives is a mordant comic who has put the play back in playwright.”

The production is directed by IU Northwest student Kevin Giese of Chesterton. The cast includes Charlie Scanlon of Lake Station; Laurie Farver of Hobart; Bill Bodnar of Hobart; Matt Mahns of Valparaiso; and Morgan Jackson of Hobart.

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased by contacting the Theatre Box Office at (219) 980-6808.

Theatre Northwest is currently celebrating its 50th year.

The Bruce W. Bergland Auditorium is located in the Savannah Center on the southeast corner of the main campus parking lot at 33rd Avenue and Broadway in Gary.
