IU Northwest’s Office of Diversity Programming invites new students to learn about resources that can help them succeed in their respective programs at a series of New Student Success Program (NSSP) Brown Bag Forums.

At 1 p.m., Thursday, April 21, Jane Nelson, director of Education Student Services, will discuss what it takes to succeed in the School of Education. The forum will take place in Hawthorn Hall (107). Students are invited to bring their lunches and settle in for an informal discussion with their peers, staff and faculty members.

Established in 2009, the NSSP places participating students in a cohort of their freshman peers. Those students learn together by taking many of their required freshman courses together. The program also provides peer and faculty mentors who form a reliable social network, helping students navigate the many challenges that arise during freshman year.

For more information about the Brown Bag Forums, contact Dr. Ken Coopwood, Director, Office of Diversity Programming, or James Wallace, NSSP Coordinator, at (219) 980-6601.
