Heading out into the “real world” as graduation draws near can be a daunting experience. Networking with potential employers, making a good impression, marketing your skills and learning social graces are essentials that don’t always come easy.

The IU Northwest Offices of Alumni Relations and Career Services are teaming up to help the workforce of tomorrow handle these situations with finesse with a networking seminar March 7 and 10 and an etiquette dinner March 29. Participants will then be well-prepared when they attend the Job Fair on April 6.

Networking Made Easy

The IU Northwest Office of Career Services will offer tips on effectively and efficiently building business relationships at a seminar at 12 p.m., Monday, March 7 and again on 6 p.m., Thursday, March 10 in the Library Conference Center (room 110).

For more information or to register, call the Office of Career Services at (219) 980-6650.

Etiquette Dinner

The IU Northwest Office of Alumni Relations will offer practical tips about dinner etiquette and manners as well as handling introductions, the handshake, small talk, dressing for success and tipping. Social gatherings and luncheon/dinner interviews will also be addressed at the dinner, schedule for 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 29 in the Library Conference Center (room 105ABC).
