The Indiana University Northwest RedHawk basketball teams will play their first twin bill this season on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at the Savanna Center. The women's team will take on region rival Calumet College of St. Joseph at 5:30 p.m.; the men will play Judson College at 7:30 p.m.
For the Lady RedHawks (0-1), the Cal College game will be a good early test and a chance to avenge last season's loss to the Crimson Wave. On Nov. 3, the IU Northwest women's team lost a heartbreaker at home in overtime 77-68 to Grace College; the Crimson Wave (3-1) beat Grace 55-54 on Wednesday. Both teams play Saturday games on the road before meeting up at the RedHawk Roost next Tuesday.
The men's team, which is 1-1 after an exciting win over Purdue Calumet in last weekend's Kettle Classic, plays on the road Saturday at Olivet Nazarene University before facing a tough Judson University squad on Tuesday. All eyes will be on seniors Pete Trgovich III and Jesse Howell as they look to light up the scoreboard in their first home game of the season.
The start time for the men's game was originally 7 p.m. but was pushed back to accommodate the women's game.
IU Northwest students, faculty and staff are encouraged to come out and support both teams as they represent the university and Northwest Indiana on the hardwood next week. For more information about RedHawk athletics, visit the Web at http://www.iunredhawkathletics.com/
