Most students don’t mind the occasional class cancellation on a busy day. Now, at Indiana University Northwest, students can opt to receive text-message alerts notifying them when one of their professors has cancelled class.
IU Northwest is the first campus in the IU system to utilize this technology.
To sign up for cancellation notices, students may visit the Web at http://webdb.iu.edu/iun/cal/TextMsg_Reminder_Maint.cfm?LS=134F505359
Students may sign up for text or email alerts, or both. Currently, daily cancellation notices are posted by the IU Northwest Registrar’s Office at http://webdb.iu.edu/iun/cal/Daily_ClassCancels.cfm and will continue to be posted here, as well. This Mobile-friendly link can be viewed via most web-ready phones. Send a link from the text message from the sign-up/edit screen.
The new notification program automatically notifies subscribers when a new cancellation is posted to the calendar page.
