IU Northwest summer orientation sessions set for June, July and August

New students may register for classes, meet with academic advisers, and learn about student services and campus groups

Incoming freshman or returning non-traditional students at Indiana University Northwest may get a head start on the coming school year by attending one of four upcoming summer orientation sessions. This yearís sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, Thursday, July 30, Tuesday, Aug. 11, and Thursday, Aug. 20. All sessions will begin at 9 a.m. with an academic/services/activities fair in the Savannah Center lobby, followed by a more formal orientation program at 9:30 a.m. in Savannah Auditorium. Academic advising will be available starting at 1 p.m.

At summer orientation, students may register for classes, receive academic advising, acquire information about student services and campus groups, and network with fellow students. Academic units and student groups will have tables at the morning services fair, and there also will be several formal presentations.

The Savannah Center is located in the southeast corner of the main campus parking lot at 33rd Avenue and Broadway in Gary. For more information about this summerís orientation programs, contact the IU Northwest Office of Admissions at (219) 980-6991.

Registration is currently underway for Fall Semester 2009. Fall classes begin on Monday, Aug. 31. To register online, visit the Web at www.iun.edu/~regisnw.
